The Doctor Is In: building a strong team

SAN ANTONIO – Dr. John Green III takes teamwork to the next level.

Dr. John Green III, Sports Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, hosts a crawfish boil to strengthen bonds with his team.

“The crawfish boil is a great time to get a bunch of people to enjoy each other’s company, enjoy a special meal,” said Green. “It’s something that I learned from a good friend back in Louisiana and I enjoy sharing that with other people.”

Dr. Green is a Professor of Clinical Sports Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

“I enjoy sports medicine because I like sports,” Dr. Green said. “I grew up playing sports, it was a big deal to me and like many athletes I experienced my own injuries.”

Dr. Green is in charge of assembling a team with a focus in Sports Medicine.

“At UT Health I have the privilege of putting together a team to help injured athletes,” said Dr. Green. “We’re assembling a group of professionals who can take care of every athlete with every injury, each time that they are hurt. Whether it’s somebody on the phone, or helping out to put the patient in the room at the clinic, it’s all important,” said Dr. Green.

Dr. Green believes that the crawfish boil is a great way to get the team together and build on their relationships.

“We’re trying to build a good team to take care of people."
