Expanding research on rare tumors
 

Dr. Patricia Dahia, professor of medicine at UT Health San Antonio, leads the development for an endocrine and hereditary tumors studies center. Endocrine tumors affect the organs responsible for making hormones, including the pancreas, thyroid and pituitary glands.  These tumors can be very harmful because the organs release hormones that control growth, digestion, mood, reproduction and much more.
