H-E-B joins UT institutions to raise money for cancer patients

Customers at H-E-B and Central Market stores across Texas will once again be able to make $1, $3 or $5 donations at the checkout registers. Proceeds raised in San Antonio benefit the Mays Cancer Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center, and will support cancer research, education and prevention programs.

The campaign runs from Wednesday, Aug. 12, through Tuesday, Sept. 8.

To comply with COVID-19 safety precautions, customers will tell cashiers their preferred donation amounts, instead of tearing off a paper slip from a display as in years past.

This year's campaign offers additional ways to make donations, including donation options at self-checkout registers, online via heb.com and through the H-E-B mobile app.
