Important COVID Update
by Bob Leverence, MD, FACP, Chief Medical Officer, UT Health Physicians

Dear Providers and Staff:

We are now seeing a significant up-tick in COVID activity both nationally and within Texas. We believe this is the beginning of our next surge. Thus far, San Antonio has maintained low/stable rates of COVID transmission, and I attribute this to the great work you and others are doing each day. Nevertheless, we will most certainly see an up-tick as well.

I ask everyone to please maintain their vigilance in masking, distancing, and handwashing both at home and at work. Please also take this opportunity to review our other UT Health San Antonio COVID-19 Policies.

Now is the time to intensify our efforts rather than let down our guard. Consequently, leadership has already begun updating our COVID playbooks and plans. I ask you that you do this as well.

We have good reason to believe this next surge will not be as bad as the last, but that is wholly dependent on how we and others respond to it.

Stay tuned for more updates, and let me know if you have questions.

Thank you for all you do,

b
