You may not need a TB test this year.

Did you notice you did not have to take your annual TB test last month?

That’s because UT Health San Antonio has adopted the new recommendations for tuberculosis (TB) testing released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention earlier this year.

Retesting for tuberculosis every year is no longer required. New employees will still have to complete TB testing, but if the result is negative, they do not have to retest every year.

If you have an exposure to tuberculosis, or you have ongoing evaluation for tuberculosis disease or infection, then you will have to complete the required testing and periodic evaluation.

If you have questions, please contact Nancy Mendicino, RN, M.S.N., CIC at mendincion@uthscsa.edu.
