Primary Care is Expanding its Reach in Our Community
by Johnna Nerios

Two primary care locations will be opening this fall to serve more patients and new communities in San Antonio.

Our nation is experiencing a disturbing shortage of primary care providers. In fact, Texas ranks 47th in the nation for having an adequate number of primary care physicians to meet current needs.  San Antonio is no exception, and that is why we are proud to announce that we are expanding our primary care services with two new locations opening this fall.

UT Health San Antonio has the goal of being the health care provider of choice for Central and South Texas with a focus on patient-centered care.  As we add primary care locations throughout San Antonio and the Hill Country, we are not only providing appointments and medications; we are bringing communities our comprehensive expertise, our research and our promise to provide compassionate and culturally proficient health care.

TWO NEW LOCATIONS OPENING THIS FALL!

A brand new primary care location, UT Health Physicians – Verde Hills, will be opening this fall at 10350 Bandera Road. This site will have primary care clinicians along with a skilled support staff who understand our patient-centered medical home model. This beautiful facility will have 15 exam rooms along with an on-site pathology lab draw station for the patient’s convenience.

Also this fall, UT Health Physicians – Shavano will move to a new, larger, beautiful clinic at 14530 NW Military Highway, just down the street from its current location. UT Health Physicians – Shavano will offer patients 16 exam rooms, an on-site pathology lab draw station along with primary care clinicians and a specialized staff who support our patient-centered medical home model.

As we get closer to welcoming patients to our new locations, we will keep you informed about open houses and other meet-and-greet opportunities.

If you have any questions, please contact Johnna Nerios, director of practice operations.
