We can stop the spread: COVID-19 testing — what you need to know
 

Dr. Jason Bowling discusses important facts about COVID-19 testing, including who should be tested and a list of testing site locations in our community.

 

Dr. Bowling explains that it is not advised to go to hospitals just for testing. If you have mild symptoms, there are a number of testing sites throughout the San Antonio area and those sites are listed on the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District’s website.

When and how often should you clean your mask
 

Fred Campbell, General and Hospital Medicine, said when hand washing your mask, use hot, soapy water and then scrub for 20-30 seconds. "Soap actually surrounds the COVID-19 viruses and destroys them. Dissolves them,” he said. Dr. Campbell said it’s important to wash your hands after touching your mask when you are done using it.

Mays Cancer Center nurse named a Top 10 Nurse by the San Antonio Express News
 

Congratulations to Amy O’Shea, RN, BSN, OCN, for being named a Top 10 Nurse by the San Antonio Express News.

 

O’Shea began her career at Mays Cancer Center in 2014 and has made a big impact on her patients.

 

“Several times during my eight-month treatment, I wanted to give up,” said one of O’Shea’s patients, who nominated her for the honor. “But she was always there with the right words and special touches. I would watch her with other patients and knew she was truly an angel on earth.”
