UT Health San Antonio cancer expert explains signs & symptoms of prostate cancer

News 4 San Antonio’s David Chancellor enters week two of ‘No-Shave November’, which is part of a massive campaign to raise cancer awareness. In his second round of interviews, David speaks with Dr. Chethan Ramamurthy, Prostate Oncologist at UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer, to talk about Prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in the United States. It affects one in eight men in the course of their lifetime.

Dr. Ramamurthy says some of the things you should watch for include:

  • Change in bowel habits
  • Rectal bleeding or blood in stool
  • Cramping or abdominal discomfort
  • Weakness and fatigue
  • Unintended weight loss
