Recognize your UT Health Physicians’ coworkers for their outstanding work in providing excellent, patient-centered care by nominating them to receive a Silver Star award. 

UT Health Stars and Shields Awards

Silver Star award nominations are open year-round for any UT Health Physicians provider, staff, volunteer, or care team. A dedicated committee anonymously reviews each submission to ensure fairness and thoroughness.

Silver Star winners are honored quarterly at a special reception, attended by their managers, colleagues, and leaders, celebrating their achievements.

The Gold Shield Awards, an annual accolade, have replaced the Employees of the Year awards. This distinguished recognition is given to individuals and teams whose Silver Star nominations were noted for their outstanding excellence from the past year's submissions.

Gold Shield awards are presented each September at the year-end awards ceremony, celebrating the exceptional care and dedication these employees contribute, reinforcing UT Health San Antonio's leadership in healthcare.

All nominations are meticulously reviewed by a committee, and recipients of the Shining Stars are celebrated every quarter in a dedicated awards program attended by their managers, peers, and practice leaders.

All nominations received after the deadlines listed above will automatically be reviewed the following quarter.
