Battle of Flowers holiday observed April 28, 2023, and considered a mission critical holiday for clinical operations
UT Health San Antonio employees:
The Battle of Flowers holiday on the fiscal year 2023 Holiday Schedule will be observed April 28. The date for this holiday had not yet been designated until the date was set for the Battle of Flowers parade, which is part of the annual Fiesta celebration for the city of San Antonio.
The Battle of Flowers holiday on April 28 is considered a mission critical day for clinical operations. This means that employees who need to work that day to support our UT Health Physicians and clinical operations will receive a banked holiday to use within 12 months. Find an explanation below.
Banked Holiday
If an employee’s duties require them to work one of the 12 designated paid university holidays on the fiscal year 2023 Holiday Schedule, the employee will be credited a banked holiday which they can use anytime during the next 12 months following the holiday.
Supervisors must move hours worked on a mission critical holiday in Kronos to Holiday Banked for their employees. Kronos job aids below show how to do so.
