News 4 San Antonio’s David Chancellor enters week three of ‘No-Shave November’, which is part of a massive campaign to raise cancer awareness.

In his third round of interviews, David speaks with Dr. Georgia McCann, Gynecologic Oncologist at UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center, to talk about the cancer risks resulting from HPV infections.

Human papillomavirus, or HPV, is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the United States. Some HPV infections can lead to cancer and every year, it causes about 36,000 cases of cancer in men and women.

Dr. McCann says some of the risk factors of HPV infections, include:

  • Number of sexual partners
  • Age
  • Weakened immune systems
