Helpful tips for MyChart activation and education

Whether you are a scheduler or call agent, benefit coordinator, front desk receptionist, or clinical staff, we all have a part to play in MyChart activation and education. Use these helpful tips to help our patients sign-up for MyChart.

Whether you are a scheduler or call agent, benefit coordinator, front desk receptionist, or clinical staff, we all have a part to play in MyChart activation and education. Use these helpful tips to help our patients sign-up for MyChart.

1. Start by reviewing the patient’s chart to determine if they are currently on MyChart. Even when it is very busy, it is important to take the time to determine your patient's MyChart status.

2. Next, engage the patient in a conversation about MyChart rather than just encouraging them to sign up.

3. Remember the importance of educating patients on MyChart’s benefits and to always ask why if the patient declines. Communicate these key points to patients to help them understand the benefits:

    • MyChart is the best and most effective way for providers and patients to communicate.
    • MyChart has great features that allow patients to see test results, upload documents, request prescriptions and speak with their provider.
    • It is secure and available to patients 24/7.
    • Patients can see and share their COVID-19 vaccine and test status.
    • Activation is fast and easy!

There’s no time like the present to have the conversation about MyChart activation. If you have questions about MyChart, don’t hesitate to ask your manager for help understanding all the benefits MyChart offers your patient and you!

The survey takes 7-15 minutes, and all responses are completely confidential. Watch a video of your fellow employees sharing why your feedback matters. All staff employees hired as of April 1, 2022, will receive an email from gallup.com on May 16 with a link to participate in the survey. We want your feedback and encourage you to answer all questions openly and candidly. Find more details on the survey website.
