UT Health San Antonio explains signs & symptoms of skin cancer

News 4 San Antonio's David Chancellor wraps up 'No-Shave November,' a massive campaign to raise cancer awareness, by speaking with experts about skin cancer.

Skin Cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer and more than 2 people die of skin cancer in the U.S. every hour.

Dr. Sandra Osswald, Chief Dermatology at UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center, says some the things you should watch for include:

  • Change in size, color, shape or texture of a mole or skin growth
  • An open wound that won’t heal
  • A mole larger than a pencil eraser
