This conference brings together members of our community interested in service-learning to put ethics into action and become community-connected healthcare providers. We'll focus on addressing mental health as a public health issue as well as:

  • Hear from keynote speaker Ruth Shim, MD, MPH, Associate Dean of Diverse and Inclusive Education at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine

Essay contest: What does patient experience mean to you
 

We want to know how you define the patient experience. In a short essay tell us your definition of the patient experience. First, second and third-place prizes will be awarded. The essay deadline has been extended to Tuesday, January 31. Winners will be announced in February.

New hope for treating breast cancer
 

Mays Cancer center is putting a decades-old antidepressant drug to new use in a clinical trial treating breast cancers that don't respond to existing therapies. The trial has shown compelling evidence of the drug's anticancer activity, which benefited 15 breast cancer patients.

Notice is required for leave and must be submitted 10 to 30 business days ahead of time, depending on how long you will be out.
